Agenda: Posted online 8-11-08[pdf]
Presentations include:

Solar Thermal Air Conditioning for Residential Homes - Using solar hot water system to provide space heating and cooling, in addition to traditional domestic hot water needs, in a residential home. Creating cooling from hot water seems like an impossible process, but it is a reality. Absorption Chillers have been used in Industrial settings for over 50 years, turning waste heat into cooling. The technology is ready for the residential market and coupled with solar thermal collectors, has incredible potential for reducting peak utility loads during the hot summer months. Santa Clara University (SCU) piloted a residential scale solar AC unit in their Solar Decathlon house in 2007 with great success. Dr. Jorge Gonzalez -SCU will present the technology, it's potential, and next steps to market.
